AESOP'S FABLES

The Two Crabs – AESOP’S FABLES (example is the best precept)

“Daughter,” reproved a mother crab.

“I wish you’d watch your gait!

Have you no self-control, no pride?

‘The way you jerk from side to side

Is awkward and undignified!

You should go swift and straight!”

“Good!” said the daughter. “Show me how!

I’ll follow what you teach!”

The mother answered with a snort,

And that was all, at last report.

For few there are of any sort,

Can practice what they preach.
